Lany thanks for your letter of the 15th of
September about bir Francis Figott. ought to have
told you in writing before that we have already said to
him something very much like what you now stepest,
namely, that r. liarcourt csunot add anything to the
communications sent to him oy the horei office.
I enclose a copy of the letter in which we ssid this.
In the circumstances, are the foreign .ffice prepared to
agree to our plainly avowing the ressons for our action
as stated in the draft enclosed in my letter to Pontgomery of the 11th of September?
